Position Summary: Research, hire and negotiate photographers for unit, publicity and gallery photography to support HBO Original Programming. Job Description: Unit Photography: Choose best dates for assigned Original Programming for on-set photography by reading scripts, one-line schedules, that meet the needs for all departments within HBO such as Media Relations, Marketing, Interactive Ventures, Enterprises, HBO Video and Merchandising as well as divisions and companies outside of HBO such as TBS and Turner. Edit photos keeping in mind the diverse needs of the company and legal restrictions for the photo approval process and final selection of images for the in-house digital library which services HBOs clients. Gallery Photography: Portfolio presentations and photographer introductions. Hire photographers and produce photo shoots based on directives from the HBO Advertising. Be the primary photo producer to liason with HBO Advertising for all their photo needs taking projects through the process from hiring, producing (to liason also with programmers, legal, project production team and photographer) editing and talent photo approvals. Responsibilities: . Create and oversee budgets for assigned projects. . Negotiate fees with photographer and crew involved in the photo shoot. . Work closely with talent and production personnel to coordinate and schedule shoots. . Edit photography. . Obtain talent photo approvals . Research stock photos and negotiate usage rights. . Oversee retouching. . Work closely with Advertising/Marketing, Media Relations and Legal Department. Qualifications: . 5 years experience as a photo editor and photo producer . A worldwide knowledge of photographers from all areas of photography. . Should have knowledge of film/video production. Need to interpret and understand one-line schedules and call sheets. . Editing skills. . Knowledge of copyright and photo usage helpful. . Knowledge of union work rules helpful. . Must be flexible, able to switch gears at a moments notice. . Able to keep cool under pressure and problem solving a must. . Some travel required
