Visit Getty Images at http://gettyimages.com. Job Summary: This is an intensive copyediting position designed to help achieve the web marketing goals of the company. The copyeditor writes and reviews all WireImage website content and some Getty Images content (and content in associated marketing vehicles such as email and other digital media projects). He or she also participates in developing and maintaining world-class editorial brand standards and ensuring that all content meets those standards. The Copy Editor is also responsible for WireImage subscriber support and various duties related to Getty Image web merchandising. Responsibilities: * Copy writing and editing: all WireImage site merchandising - buttons, splash pages, celebrity bios, etc. Work closely with design staff for timely and accurate event-based coverage. Copy for WireImage and Getty Images direct marketing projects - program ads, e-mail blasts, customer communications. * Scheduling and managing of all ongoing WireImage site merchandising and Getty Images site rotators. Assist Creative Services project managers in organization of website marketing initiatives for new services - sales tools, e-mail blasts, landing pages, etc. * WireImage Subscriber Support: assist viewing subscription subscribers with technical and administrative needs - credit card renewals, subscription cancellations, credit chargebacks, etc. Answer phone and e-mail subscriber lines. * Other duties: daily entertainment blast mails, administrative support for North American marketing managers, image selections for special projects, Getty Images Entertainment Blog - frequent contributions and site editing.Qualifications: Bachelors degree in English, communications or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years copyediting for online media or software preferred (with some writing experience). Minimum 2 years working with graphic designers. Familiarity with technical aspects of web design and development preferred.Behaviors: Detail-oriented with strong copyediting, rewriting and follow-up skills. Ability to internalize and apply an editorial style guide consistently. Thorough and current knowledge of the English language, including excellent spelling skills, mastery of grammatical style and punctuation rules, and knowledge of contemporary vocabulary. Exposure to and familiarity with foreign languages and World English. Exemplary oral and written communication skills, diplomacy and confidence. Excellent research skills; comfort utilizing web-based resources, industry publications, phone, email, interviews, books and other resource materials. Computer literacy, including thorough working knowledge of web browsers, MS Office. Familiarity with and/or willingness to work with other web design and development software preferred.
