Description: NY RAD/Operate Lead The Chief Investment Office (CIO) is a proprietary trading business, using a wide set of financial products (FX, Interest Rates, MBS, Equity, Credit). This position is within the CIO technology team, managing a pre-established team which supports technology solutions that include a comprehensive risk and P&L application and a number of more tactical applications. This is a hands-on role which involves face-to-face interaction with Traders and Middle Office, with whom the tech team is co-located. The successful candidate will have good communication and problem solving skills, and be able to work in a focussed and sometimes stressful environment. Key Responsibilities: * Promote effective teamwork and manage resolution of issues * Providing oversight and administrative support to an existing team of 4 * Manage day to day workload of junior team members, monitoring project milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of project schedule and identify / mitigate risk * Play a major role in performance management by providing personal feedback and supporting development plans. Coach junior team members * providing direct support (eg. trouble-shooting) to NY traders and middle office for locally developed "RAD" solutions and strategic risk and P&L applications * participation in rotation for early support (7:30am start) to perform application healthchecks * participate in activities within larger global projects, typically in testing or deployment planning Essential Skills: * Microsoft Excel/Access/VBA * Delivery focus/ problem solving * Capable of objectively reviewing and understanding issues. Tenacious in seeking quick, creative solutions. Has the ability to mobilize internal networks and resources and motivate internal groups to common objectives without having direct control (proven successful project management skills) * Strong research, investigation and evaluation skills * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a highly dynamic work environment * Ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work. Need to be flexible to accommodate the requirements of working as part of a global team (24/7) * Financial product knowledge * UNIX/LINUX Desirable Skills: * Experience with disaster recovery planning, testing, auditing and risk analysis. * Reuters and Bloomberg * LINUX scripting tools (i.e. ksh, csh, perl) * Knowledge of IB processing/control environments * .NET/C#
