Description:
Responsibilities for the Nurse Practitioner – Medical Oncology include:

- Obtaining medical histories from patients
- Performing physical exams
- Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic studies such as x-rays and lab tests
- Prescribing physical therapy and some types of rehabilitation
- Providing family planning services, child care, and screenings
- Providing counseling and education on health behaviors, self-care skills, and treatment options
- Handling ad hoc assignments in the Medical Oncology Unit

Required Skills:

- 2+ years of nurse practitioner experience
- Oncology/hematology experience
- Current NYS Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) licensure
