Title: Manager, Brand Operations Department: Active Cosmetics Reports to: VP Brand Operations Position Summary: Lead and implement, in conjunction with the VP, the overall operations of the Forecasting function with responsibility for forecasting quantities shipped by month for the Active Cosmetics Division (LRP/Biomedic/Vichy/Dermablend) at the item and shade levels. The key objective is to minimize forecast error across all categories, enabling retail orders to be shipped complete while preventing excess inventory holding costs at the Distribution Center and to maintain the integrity of the financial/rolling forecast. Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities 1. Lead monthly forecasting process and consensus meetings with Marketing, Sales and Finance, ensuring their active participation and attendance at meetings. Present recommended adjustments to the forecast based on analytical conclusions. Achieve a consensus forecast by soliciting their feedback to your suggested revisions and making adjustments as necessary to meet the business objectives. 2. Develop new and innovative ways of generating, reporting and analyzing forecast data, utilizing the Atlas forecasting system in conjunction with SAP, including: " Use of statistical Forecast models Forecast Accuracy Reports " Exception Reports POS consumption Inventory at retail 3. Make insightful adjustments to the forecast after determining how variables such as advertising/media spending, competition, new launches, and promotional displays impact the forecast. Work with, and challenge, Marketing and Sales departments to ensure accurate pipeline assumptions for new launches. Incorporate the Business specifics of each Distribution channel in the Forecast. 4. Attend various cross functional Brand Team Meetings to gain insight into future launches, promotions, manufacturing issues, and category risks and opportunities. 5. Coordinate Project Announcement and Project Approval documents to ensure reliable information input to the Supply Chain. Work with Industrial Development and Purchasing / Promotional Packaging group on one side and Sales and Marketing on the other side to establish Project timetable for Promotional programs. Ensure Project announcement and approval documents are issued on time to meet the target ship date. Track availability of Launches and Promotions in Order form logic and communicate estimated availability date to Sales / Marketing / Customer Service. 6. Become the central source of product availability information within the Division for Sellable and Non-Sellable items. Ensure communication flow to Customer service. 7. Manage coding system for respective brands, and UPC assignments with Inventory & Control to ensure consistency and maintain data integrity. 8. Work closely with Market Supply Logistics (MSL) to avoid Out of stocks while optimizing inventory levels: - Hold regular meeting with MSL to discuss Supply situation - Keep MSL updated about latest demand signals and changes - Work with MSL and challenge them - on projecting inventory levels - Work with MSL on optimization of procurement parameters and safety stock levels. 9. Manage the catalog for the US Division. Propose SKU rationalizations. Submit liability projections for phase out products to Sales and Marketing and get a consenus on phase out strategy. Inform Finance about financial liability estimates so that it can be incorporated in the financial trend. 10. Monitor evolution of Excess and Obsolete inventory (Sellable and Non Sellable) on a monthly basis. Hold regular meetings with Sales, Marketing, Finance, MSL to discuss possible solutions (future use, destruction). Work with them on strategies to significantly reduce Excess and Obsolete inventory levels in the future. 11. Collect and monitor Key Performance Indicators in order to identify improvement possibilities and contribute actively to the continuous improvement process in the Supply Chain. "Position interacts with the following departments: Marketing, Sales, Sales Administration, Finance, Market Supply Logistics, Inventory & Control, IT, Customer Service, Promotional Operations / Assembly, Purchasing "Educational / Specialized Training Requirements:Bachelors Degree, MBA Plus "Work Experience Requirements: 5-7 years of forecasting experience, with exposure to Statistical forecasting in either a Consumer Products company, beauty or related industry or retail. Must have inventory, demand planning and/or supply chain, cost control experience. Must have been in an influencing role to lead consensus meetings with cross functions such as Marketing, Sales and Manufacturing. Must possess advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (formulations and pivot tables), and Access. Knowledge of Forecasting software, SAP R/3, SAP BW preferred. Must possess above average communication, organizational, analytical, and leadership skills. REQUIREMENTS: "Work Experience Requirements: 5-7 years of forecasting experience, with exposure to Statistical forecasting in either a Consumer Products company, beauty or related industry or retail. Must have inventory, demand planning and/or supply chain, cost control experience. Must have been in an influencing role to lead consensus meetings with cross functions such as Marketing, Sales and Manufacturing.
