This position is responsible for soliciting merchants to accept the American Express Card. Goals include raising market-specific charge volume and new locations through signing district prospects as identified through all prospecting sources. The territory includes strategic zip codes in and around New York City. The incumbent is responsible for updating target lists as new prospects emerge. He or she must develop sales plans for each prospect and coordinate all internal resources necessary to facilitate each signing. The incumbent is also responsible for executing proper account set-up with all new accounts, reviewing critical processes (such as acceptance procedures, reconciliation, inquiry and chargeback handling), and ensuring a smooth transition of the account to the appropriate client management channel. Experience working under a sales quota incentive plan strongly required. . Extensive strategic selling experience is required. . Extensive cold calling and pipeline management experience is also required. . Excellent written and oral communication skills, very good negotiation and decision-making skills, strong quantitative and analytical skills, and the ability to prepare P&L projections and break even analyses required. . Excellent time management and organizational skills required. . Must possess the ability to build and leverage relationships with internal colleagues and support personal. . Previous experience presenting formal presentations, and strong MS Office skills required. . Knowledge of Establishment Services and Cardmember operations preferred. . Virtual office experience a plus!
