The Macys East Herald Square Merchandise Coordinator will work in conjunction with the Macys East Account Executives, NY Based Sales Management, Manager of Training, Buyers and Store Line Personnel. The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for facilitating branch store growth and profitability. The Merchandise Coordinator will have sales goals for the Herald Square location and will be reviewed monthly on how these goals are being met. The Merchandise Coordinator executes visual and merchandising standards and is responsible for the training and development of Herald Square store personnel. In addition, the Merchandise Coordinator must maintain a constant and open-line of communication, training and the development of key management relationships, which make up the cornerstone of success in this position.
Responsibilities: 1. Communicate . The Macys East Herald Square Merchandise Coordinator will make an effort to communicate with ALL levels of management as well as the Macys East buying and planning associates in both mens and womens. . Develop a solid relationship with all department store management and personnel. Get to know "who" makes the decisions in each door. (These people need to know and respect you). . Maintain continuous open lines of communication. Cultivate these very crucial business relationships by being a business professional in every sense of the word - especially in attitude and appearance. . Communicate daily to Macys Easts account executives the status of the business, opportunities and challenges. . Assist in all Macys East market appointments in the NY showroom. 2. Train and Develop . Lead seasonal seminars for all store reviewing: Current trends, special fabrications, fits, prices and key pieces in each delivery. . Hire and develop all Specialists to be strong merchandisers and effective communicators with customers and with the Sales Coordinator. 3. Visual Merchandising Standards . Work 4 to 5 days per week in the Herald Square location with time split between Womens and Mens based on current %% of business. . Work with the LBJ Training and Merchandising teams to insure that LBJ standards are being met at Herald Square in mens and womens. . Enforce markdown presentation standards. Educate the staff on the importance of completing markdowns in a timely manner and the impact that this has on our business. . Negotiate the best floor spaces and ensure the most current logo campaign is maximized. 4. Analyzing Business . Assist Macys East account executives in the NY Sales office with order tracking and maintenance, weekly style selling and by door selling. . Identify opportunities based on door and style trends. . Analyze individual door and total account business on a daily / weekly / monthly basis. (Expect this from your Specialists / Co-ops as well). . Know the business and competition. . Be proactive in implementing business opportunities: i.e.: re-working floor presentations to focus on what is working in the specific door, ensure that current stock levels and on-orders are in the line with the branch trends. Communicate all this to the Account Executive.
Qualifications: . College Degree preferred . 1-3 years experience in the fashion industry preferred . High energy, initiative and sense of urgency. . Ability to be successful in a fast-paced environment. . Ability to problem solve independently. . Demonstrated passion for retail and interest in sales.
