Job description The Lotus and Websphere Portal Brand Marketing Manager is responsible for delivering the promise of the Lotus sub-brand and the WPLC portfolio, complete with core attributes (i.e., collaboration + innovation) and key messages. This role will be responsible for: This includes: formulating plans that increase customer consideration and preference for Lotus-branded products as well as WebSphere Portal; increasing aided and unaided awareness; improving overall brand image; building brand attributes that drive customer purchase in growth markets; and managing the naming architecture, process and guidelines for divisions entire software and services portfolio. Key responsibilities include: Developing and socializing brand-level value propositions and key messages; reviewing and influencing content conveyed in customer-facing deliverables such as advertisements, press releases, keynote presentations, collateral and direct marketing materials; directing and/or participating in creation of high-level, pre-launch product positioning -- and periodically engaging with the market intelligence team to conduct research that validates or disputes assumptions; and managing naming/branding projects that yield product names that functional/experiential/generic-descriptive so they are appealing to customers, and acceptable to patent and trademark offices around the world. Education/Experience -- Degree: MASTERS DEGREE OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE -- Field of study: MBA, Communications, Business, Marketing -- Experience: Candidate must have product, communications and/or brand marketing experience Required * Bachelors Degree * English: Fluent Preferred * Masters Degree in Advertising/Journalism/Media Studies Additional information Education/Experience -- Degree: MASTERS DEGREE OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE -- Field of study: MBA, Communications, Business, Marketing -- Experience: Candidate must have messaging, communications and preferably brand marketing experience Description Possess strong business writing and editing skills (value props, themes, key messages). Understand SWG organization, sub-brands and product portfolios, especially as it relates to cross-brand messaging. Strong teaming and project management skills.
