Description Summary - The Manager of Content Technologies will be responsible for building and leading a Center of Expertise around content development technologies, content storage/management, and content distribution including digital assets across categories such as editorial, 3rdparty, and community content. - Insure that teams are focused on using identified organizational critical success factors to drive positive change. - Create vision and provide clear strategic direction to the Content Planning organization. Job Description - General o A demonstrated history of solid experience around content development technologies, content storage/management, and content distribution o Strategic thinker; quick learner; ability to work well in a dynamic environment and execute quickly - People o Manages a group of 15-20 content technology developers across global time zones. o Lead career development of Cast/self o Responsible for developing our people and skill depth in the content technology arena. This includes making sure people have the right training (formal and informal) to develop their skills, have personal development plans, and have regular performance evaluations. This will also include recruiting and hiring, identifying the right external people and skills to bring into the organization. - Strategy o Lead teams in creating, validating, analyzing and executing plans to achieve business results. o Identify, scope and build the business case for large content initiatives o Develop a deep understanding of company goals & objectives and ensure that all content efforts support those goals o Serve as our senior technical expert on content technologies - Delivery o Lead the development and implementation of content technology. They will establish standards and best practices such that our digital content is highly portable and meets open industry standards. o Serve as content technology expert to projects in areas of scoping and solving major roadblocks o Act as a liaison between content business team and tech groups to ensure all projects are prioritized & executed in a timely manner o Assist in development and regular analysis of annual plans, forecasts and business objectives o Participate in the annual forecasting and planning process o Integrate development work with architecture team standards and guidelines. Insure that product development supports architecture direction.Scope project work, provide estimates for content technology development work

Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or appropriate combination of education and significant experience - Need to see at least 5 years of solid experience around content development technologies, content storage/management, and content distribution - Minimum 3-4 years prior management/supervisory experience preferred. - E-commerce experience preferred with Content Authoring Technology - Previous hands on experience in the following areas are required: o Design and development using object oriented and component oriented techniques o Server Side application development including J2EE technologies o Ability to lead integration and troubleshooting efforts upon project delivery (post development); basic knowledge of server side web programming o Developing solutions for performance, reliability and scalability in Linux/Java environments. o Working knowledge Experience with agile software development methodologies. o Familiarity with travel industry, OTA (Open Travel Alliance) standards, a plus - Strong verbal and written communication skills - High degree of managerial, analytical and communication skills - Experienced leading, guiding and completing projects per deliverables, on time and on budget - Demonstrated influencing and partnering skills - Demonstrated ability to drive business results
