More information about this job: Overview: Manage design development process from concept hand off through production adoption with internal and external business partners. Internal partners include creative design, fabric teams, graphic design, sourcing, tech design, product development, marketing, operations, merchandising/sales, HBHK & HBI Turkey. External partners include TSS, Target color office, Archroma. This includes development of product for all C-9 categories including, Men's, Women's, Boy's, Girl's. It also includes Women's/Girl's bras. This position almost solely supports the entire C9 business - every style shipped is developed through this position.
Responsibilities: • Organize all pending development issues through daily communication with TSS, HBHK, HBI Turkey, HBWS, and Li & Fung ensuring the development process remains moving. • Attend hand off meetings to ensure tech design has all necessary information for releasing PDMs for sample production including confirmation of fabric, trim, artwork, fit block, all attributions, attribution placement, concept numbers (clarify where appropriate to use existing concept number and where necessary to issue new concept number), address potential costing issues and propose less expensive alternatives (usually trim) or construction. • Begin development with Target's color office of custom match colors, setting up palettes in Target's Palette Administrator for each new season, updating palette changes as a result of design review meetings, initiating color ring distribution process to Target buyers. • Manage development of new artwork and trim with HBHK, HBI Turkey, and Li & Fung from concept through final approval to ensure name and reference numbers are available for tech pack/PDM completion. • Review PD&D calendar to identify necessary X dates to ensure timely sample delivery for design review meetings. Communicate with all parties on status. • Review initial placement chart to ensure design and tech design are reviewing samples from correct vendor. Communicate design review comments to vendors. • Distribute design collateral (artwork, new trim development) to appropriate teams. • Clarify any discrepancies to maintain consistent information across CADs, tech packs & PDMs i.e. fabric reference numbers, trim reference numbers and colorways. • Order samples and manage HBHK, HBI Turkey and TSS sample production to ensure calendar due dates are met. Receive, review and distribute samples to design teams. • Review strike off, trim and sample submits to determine if they meet our standard and can be reviewed with design. Where submits are below standard provide vendor with any additional information necessary to resubmit standard. • Attend download meeting to ensure consistency of communication between all parties. Follow up with additional style drops/adds and palette changes. • Manage staff product manager.
Qualifications: MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED: BA/BS Degree required or AA Fashion Degree with 9 years of equivalent experience. Supervisory skills and experience desired. Strong communication. Multi-tasking ability. Creative ability. Required travel up to 10%%. Ability to learn and take direction. Computer literate. Self motivated. Ability to work in team environment under tight deadlines. Availability to field calls before or after business hours in response to overseas facilities needs and necessary clarification
