The Data Quality Governance & Stewardship Manager is a member of the Master Data Management team, and works closely within an Enterprise Data Governance Model in the capacity of ensuring adequate resources, funding and scheduling for performing data quality improvement and maintenance activities for the organization. The Data Quality Governance & Stewardship Manager will also provide day-to-day management of the DQ Program (project management, status reporting, resource management, risk management, benefit tracking) for project delivery. Accountabilities * Work with Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Council and Data Quality Board objectives and direction * Co-ordinate activities and tasks between the Data Movement & Controls Board with those of Data Quality Board. * Provide guidance and recommendations for DQ Program execution efficiencies, or unaware risk areas * Disseminate EDM guiding principles (ownership, understanding and standardization) * Review Data Quality issues/initiatives for approval * Assist business teams in establishing of Data Owners and Stewards * Coordinate prioritization of data quality issues/initiatives with the Business Data Stewards * Keep data quality management initiatives on track: on schedule and within budget * Assign appropriate resources to resolve data quality issues * Work with Business to request appropriate resources to assist in the resolution of data quality issues * Assist in resolving data quality escalated issues/conflicts * Provide guidance for skill development and training needs for execution of data quality program * Measure and analyze data quality; provide results to DQ program leadership * Manage the metrics/ measures for data quality validation * Manage risk and perform Quality Assurance reviews * Serve as liaison between DQ Program leadership and the Data Quality Workgroups!*!

Functional Skills * Knowledge of Business Unit%%27s functions and processes (finance, operations, sales and service, etc.) * Knowledge of data quality, data management and data testing strategies and practices * Business and IT liaison capabilities; working with complex business requirements and processes * Systems analysis, database aptitude * Understanding of BI presentation tools used in scorecard and dashboards * Desired experience in the Financial or Insurance industry Technical Skills * Required Proficiency in: * Data Quality Toolsets (IBM Quality Stage, IBM Information Analyzer, Informatica IDE, IDQ; FirstLogic, etc.) * RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata) * MS Project, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint * Enterprise Applications (Siebel, OMNI, Peoplesoft ) * Preferred Proficiency in: * ETL tools (Informatica PowerCenter, IBM DataStage, etc.) or ESB tools (IBM Data Stage, MQ Series) * BI presentation tools used in scorecards and dashboards Managerial Skills * Project management; data quality concepts around profiling and cleansing; knowledge about the business processes that produce data; data quality metrics experience; system development life-cycle knowledge and experience * Performs work with minimal supervisory direction * Teamwork skills * Build and sustain stakeholder ownership and commitment * People/facilitation skills — expectations management, obtaining buy-in/consensus, negotiating solutions, resolving conflict * Anticipate and handle critical situations * Demonstrated data analysis results packaging and presentation skills * Strong written and oral communication skills * Analyze and solve poorly defined or ambiguous problems Experience * Requires a Bachelor%%27s degree preferably in a business discipline, Engineering or Computer Science/ Management Information Systems or equivalent experience. * Requires 7 - 10 years business experiences — preferably in a business systems analyst or operations capacity
