Description: Posting Title Management Development Associate (MDRP) Job State NY : NEW YORK Job City New York Name of Company The Nielsen Company Requisition ID (optional) 5275BR Job Function Campus/Entry Level Job Status Full-time Position Description The Nielsen Companys Management Development Rotation Program (MDRP) is a challenging 18-20 month program for talented high performing individuals. Through special training, guidance, and education, the program seeks to foster the development of future managers/leaders and provide a continuous pipeline of new and emerging talent to the Nielsen organization. The program is designed to develop a multi-skilled, multi-talented workforce through exposure to: our businesses, a variety of functional disciplines, and educational experiences. Upon successul completion of the program, participants are placed within one of our business units. Our next MDRP Program will run from July 2008 through December 2009. The MDR Program consists of three major components: 1) Cross-Functional Rotation Assignments: The main learning component of the MDR Program is the rotation assignments which provide on-the-job learning and broad breadth of knowledge. Through project assignments, participants gain invaluable practical work experience. The assignments are cross-functional in nature and span across different geographical areas. The selection of projects/assignments depends on several variables including business needs, participants background, experience, desired career path, and project availability. 2) Training & Development: Participants are also supported throughout their tenure in the program with training that will enable them to meet their development objectives. The coursework content focuses on the media and marketing information areas: Industry Information, Clients, Business Processes, Technology, and a wide variety of Professional Development classes. 3) Mentoring: Each MDR participant is paired up with a more experienced person (mentor) who assists the participant (mentee) in developing skills and knowledge that will enhance the particpants professional and personal growth. The mentor provides direction to participants with rotation assignments, career planning, and individual development planning and post-program placement. If you would like to be considered for participation in our next MDRP class, you must submit the following required documents: 1) Your resume and cover letter which should include reasons why you are interested in the program 2) A copy of your official transcripts 3) A letter of recommendation from the Dean/college professor of your specific degreed program Job Requirements This highly competitive program expects and looks for excellence in candidates who bring diverse backgrounds to innovation and problem solving. We look for well-rounded recent college graduates who possess the following qualities: *Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher (average particpant GPA is 3.50) *Graduated within the the last 2 years (May/June 2008 graduates welcome) *Leadership role in college and/or extracurricular activities *Willingness and ability to travel extensively and willingness to commit to a multi-year career with The Nielsen Company after completion of the program *Must be willing to relocate anywhere in the US upon completion of the program *Strong desire to enter and develop within the media and/or marketing information industries *Demonstrated background in taking initiative *Capacity and motivation for hard work and commitment to excellence *Strong interpersonal and written communication skills *Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills *Strong PC skills Education Qualifications Bachelors degree
