Description: Managed Care Analyst Department:Finance Location:MEETH Status:Full-time Requirements: Lenox Hill Hospital, conveniently located on Manhattans beautiful Upper East Side, has earned a national reputation for outstanding patient care and innovative medical and surgical treatments. The hospital is particularly well known for excellence in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, orthopedics, sports medicine, otolaryngology/head and neck surgery, and maternal/child health. The Hospital is also a recognized leader in public health education and community outreach. We have an excellent opportunity as a Managed Care Analyst. Responsibilities include: .aResolve operational and contractual issues with managed care companies .aAnalyze hospital utilization data to support managed care contracting activities .aAssist with contract negotiations with managed care companies .aCalculate expected payments in the Decision Support System, and assist in auditing results .aReview and audit accuracy of managed care payments to Lenox Hill Hospital .aConduct cost-benefit analyses of new technology in support of managed care contracting .aMonitor accuracy of rates and contract terms entered into patient accounting and decision support databases .aBachelors degree, Masters preferred .a2-3 years managed care experience at an insurance company or healthcare facility .aSuperior computer skills. Excel, Word and Access proficiency required; familiarity with PowerPoint a plus .aBilling and/or Decision Support report writer experience is a plus. .aStrong critical thinking and analytical abilities .aClear and concise written and verbal communication skills .aHighly motivated individual with ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities/projects.
