Position Description: Derivatives IT provides development and support of front, middle and back office applications used by the global OTC derivatives business for interest rate, credit and equity derivatives, options and fund linked products. Derivatives IT is in the process of a radical redesign of its IT systems and architecture to meet the challenges of a major increase in trading volumes as well as improved STP and control. Changes and new systems implemented to date include: A new XML based front-to-back database; New (.NET) trade capture screens; STP workflows and operations systems; Risk management and pricing systems; Improved processes and control around the use of Excel. The benefits to the business of the STP improvements have already made a major impact and the architecture will allow IT to rapidly react to future changes and growth in the derivatives business. The new technical platform will also facilitate the firm’s ability to innovate in the financial markets. This strategy was recently consequently, Derivatives IT grew by 25%% in 2003, and we plan to grow by another 25%% in 2004. Our revenue growth plans extend to (at least) 2006 and Derivatives is seen as being at the forefront for CSFB. The successful candidate will join a spreadsheet development team in order to facilitate business and product knowledge as it applies to current development efforts in Excel and C#.
Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate requests from the trading desk and work to develop them in the trading sheets/systems in conjunction with the rest of the development team, the modeling group, and the trading desk- Mathematical and Financial Engineering skills will be utilized to facilitate better communication and understanding with the trading staff / modeling groups, and to ensure proper implementation and testing for any requests as such.
Qualifications Experience and Skills Required/Desired: Required Work Experience: - Some experience with relational and non-relational databases, plus SQL knowledge. C# 2 yrs Required Technical/Business Skills and Knowledge: - Solid Excel development experience (absolute minimum 2 years) - Good financial knowledge of derivative products (Equity/Interest Rate/Credit or Fund-linked Products) - Good knowledge of risk management of Derivative products. - Although the candidate will be operating as part of a supervised team the candidate will be individually responsible for the projects they work on and therefore requires self motivation, enthusiasm and good communication skills as they will interacting with traders and their support groups (Product Control, Risk Management etc) on a regular daily basis. Desirable Technical/Business Skills and Knowledge: - To have worked on a trading floor with direct contact with traders and Front office staff.
