DESCRIPTIONThe American Diabetes Association is proud to announce the availability of a Corporate and Foundation Development Internship at our New York City office. This position may support the fundraising efforts for our New York City chapter which provided diabetes prevention services to more than 8 million people in 2007. Duration: Beginning immediately and will be available through Fall Semester. Hours: 10-15 hours per week Transportation: The office is located on 7th Avenue between 28th and 29th Streets, mere blocks from Penn Station and Subway stops. This is an unpaid internship. The Corporate and Foundation Development Intern will be responsible for the providing prospect research, assisting with grants and corporate development, direct-mailings and some major gift responsibilities. Duties include project management, intensive research, analyzing corporate and foundation data, compiling reports from research detailing information pertinent to the ADAs fundraising efforts, identifying strong funding leads and best approaches for funding, project development, data entry and mailing projects. No experience necessary, but attention to detail and accountability required and computer knowledge a plus. This internship is a great way to start your career in the Fundraising and Non-Profit industry!

REQUIREMENTS* Excellent writing, research, and communication skills * Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student (or recently graduated) * Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Internet and e-mail * Proficiency in database management and design of spreadsheets
