More information about this job: Overview: Responsible for the daily reconciliation of all foreign currency and security accounts maintained for various agents of Daiwa Securities America against our internal systems. Daily activities include reconciliation of cash and security accounts, processing conversion of ADR to ORD and ORD to ARD shares, margin and funding to cover trades processed by the international trading desk to avoid risk of exposure for the firm and ensure expedite of trades.

Responsibilities: Processing of all incoming and outgoing cash payments and the balancing of the accounts, through Sumitomo, Daiwa Tokyo, Citibank, and other agent banks with which DSA is affiliated, via Phase 3. . Conversion of foreign/domestic securities (ADR to ORD and ORD to ARD) through transfer agents and the coordination of their activities with the Cashier Department. . Analyze failed trades and future trade discrepancies to ensure timely and accurate settlement. . Processing and settlement of Japanese Government Bonds, Borrows, Tokyo Direct Trades, and Margin transactions with the appropriate counter-parties, agent banks, and internal departments. . Instructions via Phase 3, Citibank system, Swift, Nijion system (DSBCM), and telex. . Interaction with members of management, trading desks, P&S, Cashiers Department, Stock Loan, Accounting, Cash Management, and other internal departments. . Communicate with Daiwa Tokyo through email, telex, and swift.

Qualifications: General knowledge of the financial services industry with experience in international settlement. . A college degree with a background in finance would be useful, but not required. . Strong interpersonal skills. . Working knowledge of Phase 3, Citibank System, Global One, Excel, and Word would be practical; although not required
