Job Description: Managers in Huron's Higher Education Consulting team possess proven track records of success in financial or operational management at a university or academically-affiliated hospital or substantial consulting experience with universities or academic medical centers. Because of the complex nature of the projects and the seniority of the client representative, a high level of sophistication about organizational structure, financial management, and institutional strategic planning are key requirements for success. Managers are responsible for planning and managing frontline consulting activities. The position will involve significant on-site client contact and overall client management. Managers will provide guidance and supervision to analysts and associates. Specific tasks include: • Planning and supervising problem identification; • Data analysis; • Development of solutions; • Preparing and making presentations to clients.

Job Requirements: • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or related fields; • 5+ years work experience in the research administration, accounting, or consulting field; • Strong analytical, spreadsheet modeling, database, and communication skills; • Cost accounting, sponsored research regulations, packaged software grants (including PeopleSoft) experience, financial or operational experience in a research administration environment a plus.

Additional skills include: • Knowledge of federal regulations related to research; • Experience in providing Facilities and Administrative Rate services to major research universities, including rate calculation systems and functional space survey systems; • Experience in the design and implementation of web-based effort certification systems and effort commitment systems. This position requires significant travel.
