Individual is responsible for developing and managing marketing budgets for events within a defined market portfolio. Also responsible for developing and implementing the strategic vision within given markets. This person will lead a department and manage a variety of cross-functional disciplines to achieve the company’s strategic marketing goals. Responsibilities: Manage and/or develop and implement marketing strategies and plans for regional portfolio of tradeshows that are in alignment with brand strategy and budget. Development, initiation, management and oversight of overall Marketing Activities within the context of corporate strategy (targeted segments, customers and offerings). Drive networking activities with existing Customer Base to expand relationships. Plan and direct effective and efficient communication programs to sell products and services to include: Exhibitor Sales, Attendee Participation, Conferences & Events, Sponsorship opportunities and eMarketing applications. Manage all external creative resources to provide input, direction, and project management for the creative development of all marketing materials including Web-based media. Designing, implementing and reviewing the strategic marketing plans encompassing; direct sales (sales force, telemarketing), direct mail, e-marketing, fax, advertising and public relations for portfolio of tradeshow. Facilitating the creation and distribution of marketing and promotional materials ensuring standardization and consistency of content. Communicate with all levels of management and outside marketing resources on current marketing activities, materials and initiatives. Work with Group Show Director, online services (eMedia) and brand team to develop marketing plans and ensure marketing collateral and communications, including printed brochures, print advertisements, direct mail pieces, html and text-based email, and web banners accurately reflect event positioning and key messaging. Work with Analytics/Research teams to understand the data and information collected and analyzed; creating benefits-oriented attendee and exhibitor messages incorporating the information. Hands-on marketing fulfillment responsibilities for portion of events within portfolio. Work with Group Show Directors on programs to acquire, retain, and stimulate customers through all forms of marketing via the management and use of Goldmine (sales force automation technology) for all Expo sales. Direct event measurement and wrap up activities for each event in portfolio. Analyze ongoing and past customer (attendee, exhibitor, sponsor) behavior and make timely recommendations for changes to marketing plans and activities based on findings. Direct that accepted recommendations to marketing plans are fully implemented and measured. Negotiate Public Relations Contract for groups of shows as appropriate. Fully participate in the launch of new events for the group including budgeting, marketing planning and implementation, product reviews, etc. Identify and implement new tools and techniques for marketing. Establish marketing processes and continue to improve and evolve them as appropriate. Hire, manage, train motivate and develop marketing and graphic design teams. Responsible for management of all aspects of the sales and marketing process from prospect identification to closing, including the development and cultivation of new business opportunities in partnership with Group Show Director(s). Qualifications BS/BA in business/marketing; MBA preferred Minimum of 10 years direct marketing experience to include: direct mail, fax, e-mail, telemarketing and web-based campaigns Minimum three (3) years in a people management role Market research background preferred Tradeshow experience beneficial Demonstrated ability to manage change and flexibility Demonstrated sales budget management and budget planning skills Demonstrated strategic and creative thinking skills Excellent business building, negotiation and leadership skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly motivated and effective leader with proven people development abilities Highly organized and capable of handling several projects simultaneously Outstanding oral and written communication and messaging skills.
