POSITION SUMMARY Facilitate the effective communication and strong working relationships between operations, district managers, store managers and regional marketing/merchandising functions. Act as the eyes and ears of the local marketplace for competitive intelligence gathering. Act as the spark plug of enthusiasm for local stores excitement about merchandising programs. Actively utilize new technology and system enhancements from EverGReen initiatives. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Provide enthusiastic support to local level store management of brands and products coming from marketing organization. Facilitate two-way communication between local concerns and centralized merchandising and marketing functions. Take an active role in supporting a customer focus environment at the store level. 2. Develop strong working relationships with diverse department managers within operating area. Facilitate their development into high performing managers with outstanding knowledge of their particular category. Work with department managers to ensure their actions portray a customer first attitude. 3. Conduct regular checks of product identification, prices and ingredient information and product codes that are contained in scales for appropriate departments within assigned stores. 4. Organize, execute and implement space management and shelf design projects at the store level. Ensure product updates and discontinuances are handled effectively at the local level and that best practices are shared among store managers. 5. Continually gather local competitive and consumer interest data regarding new trends and interests. Provide such information to merchandising and marketing groups. Provide input to ensure products sold are as good as or exceed the market and consumer requirements for the product. Provide competitive intelligence around such trends as local delivery, grocery items that tie to seafood and related trends. 6. Meet regularly with department managers to maintain open lines of communications and to provide a team-based environment consistent with the core values of the company. Ensure all such meetings focus on the customer. 7. Actively utilize new technology initiatives including the modules of SOLO to enhance availability of merchandise and inventory information at the store level. Become familiar with other systems initiatives and analyze the operational information that can be generated from such systems to conduct comparative, fact based store results. Discuss such results with Department Managers on a regular basis. 8. Meet and develop strong relationships with local vendors who are not able to travel to centralized marketing or merchandising staff. Facilitate the resolution of operational issues local vendors may have with corporate functions. 9. Develop and implement special promotional programs for seasonal events such as Passover, Easter, Halloween, etc. Ensure store staff understands the significance of these specialized events. Actively participate in focus store meetings. 10. Develop and implement special promotional programs for community and charity events; obtain vendor support; provide encouragement at the store level to project maximum enthusiasm leading to optimal exposure

Requirements KEY GOALS IN FIRST 6 - 12 MONTHS 1. Develop a full understanding of the major sales improvement opportunities for their assigned categories for each store covered. 2. Conduct an assessment of the relationship between group marketing and local store operations. Design and implement programs that will improve those relationships. 3. Take corrective actions as necessary to ensure profitability and market share targets are met. 4. Develop and execute a plan whereby regular contact with department managers at the store level happens. Develop and execute a communications plan where best practices can be shared among store and department managers. 5. Ensure complete understanding of EverGReen technology and business process initiatives such as SOLO.
