If so, Business Objects is actively recruiting for a Financial Services Consulting Manager to assist with current client requirements. A Consulting Manager has responsibility for the success of multiple projects within geography or multiple projects at a client site; and developing the Consultants of a given geography to ensure that the technical needs of the region/geography are being achieved and proactively improved. ConsultingManager major responsibilities include: * Selling services and solutions; and related business development * Managing delivery of Data and/or Decision projects, including performing billable Quality Audits * Personnel management and growth
Solution Selling Capabilities * Can build collaborative relationship with the license sales team to include early involvement in sales campaigns, advocating for consulting and education on every significant license transaction
* Can drive consulting and education bookings to meet quarterly quotas
* Can support and/or train the sales team on the value proposition of Global Services with particular focus on Data and Decision projects * Can demonstrate ability to multi-task on multiple sales campaigns at once and qualify/prioritize a multitude of sales opportunities
* Can build and drive the necessary pipeline to achieve quarterly quotas
* Can develop a pipeline that will equal 2X quarterly education and consulting goals, in "C" status or higher in the CCS methodology
* Can forecast accurately on a weekly basis * Can negotiate rates, project costs, terms and conditions of work & contracts + other factors of a commercial nature in relation to GS services delivery
* Can lead a solutions sales cycle
* Can drive a solution-oriented sales campaign including developing a proposal that fits both Business and IT requirements with the relevant customer contacts and partners
* Can identify good sources of ROI for enterprise-wide BI projects
* Can lead a customer Discovery Process
* Can structure a customer engagement to capture the information necessary to craft a compelling business solution
* Can lead the interview process to identify users business and technical requirements in order to create the Statement of Work
* Can lead a Vision Workshop / Facilitation Workshop
* Can structure a Vision Workshop to either drive cross-organizational alignment and/or surface the customers business requirements
* Can lead Vision Workshop facilitation process and drive group closure * Can identify and respond to the different business opportunities that surface during the Vision Workshop process
* Can identify and quantify a BI project opportunity
* Knows what questions to ask of what parts of the organization to surface a GS opportunity
* Understands strategies for converting a tactical reporting opportunity into a Data level opportunity
* Can identify and quantify a Data or Decision Sales opportunity
* Knows what questions to ask of what parts of the organization to surface a Data or Decision business opportunity
* Knows general value proposition of Global Services Data and Decision service offerings and capabilities
* Can manage a consistent delivery engagement model with clients, to deliver a range of offerings, with high quality results and high percentage of repeat business
* Ability to manage and monitor complex BI projects and mentor project managers and technical leadership
* Ability to drive adoption of BI methodology and offerings, and management of quality program * Ability to utilize engagement model to develop add-on business opportunities * Ability to deliver high-value billable work focused on quality reviews
* Understands and can articulate a generic BI Project methodology
* Knows deliverables and milestones for each stage of a project lifecycle
* Can take a standard template and scale up or down accordingly
Data Service Line Capabilities * Can explain a general ETL and data warehouse architecture
* Can explain the roles of EIM and data warehousing as part of an organizations overarching data strategy
* Can explain how business intelligence and analytics take advantage of an organizations investment in EIM and data warehousing
* Can articulate the different components of our EIM capabilities
* Can explain Business Objects EIM product capabilities including ETL, EII, EAI and Data Quality
* Can explain our Global Services capabilities and experiences in areas such as Master Data Management, etc.
* Can articulate the different data warehousing architectural approaches
* Can explain different data warehouse best practices (and key anxiety areas) including ETL, staging tables, data warehouse, data marts, operational data stores, data quality and metadata
* Can succinctly discuss the value proposition of a good DW strategy and the primary risks in taking a haphazard or no approach
Decision Service Line Capabilities * Brings relevant industry and/or functional business experience
* Has relevant industry (Retail, CPG, Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, etc.) or functional (supply chain, finance, sales, marketing) expertise
* Can hold a conversation with the business executives of their relevant industry in order to establish credibility and repartee * Can establish and manage a business relationship with a strategic account and its critical stakeholders
* Brings EPM and/or analytics experience
* Has direct experience in the EPM and/or analytic applications market
* In the EPM space, can talk about balanced scorecard, six sigma, EVA or other performance management techniques * In the analytics space, can talk about the use of analytics to address industry or function-specific business requirements
* PBU Specific Requirements
* Has a background in finance with direct experience in planning
* Demonstrates expertise in, and can discuss the various components of, planning including: Budgeting, Forecasting, Strategic Planning, Consolidations, etc. * Can establish and manage a strategic business relationship with key finance executives within existing and targeted accounts
Leadership and Communication Capabilities * Understands and is accountable for key metrics of GS business
* Manages P&L in order to attain all targets
* Drives and is accountable for utilization rates of practices * Takes responsibility for improving margin by focusing on high value services, identifying cost savings* * Accountable for successful delivery of all project deliveries * Accountable for customer satisfaction
* Has strong interpersonal skills
* Strong presentation skills in front of either IT or business users
* Strong writing skills, in particular, can write a compelling letter to target executive sponsors * Strong overall communication and documentation skills
* Has the ability to lead and mentor their team
* Must recruit, develop, manage, and retain a world-class team of BI consultants and educators
* Can replicate success and grow the capabilities of the team * Works to improve team strengths and reduce weaknesses * Ability to mentor senior personnel and expand their ability to manage other consultants and educators * Manage the Practice to low levels of turnover and high employee satisfaction * Develop a succession plan for the Practice that allows for growth at several levels
