Job description Will commute daily into DC Metro area to target Federal sector accounts. Will travel to remote customer sites as needed.The FTSS will provide product technical expertise, in the Pre Sales & Post Sales qualification cycle and is responsible for the delivery of the technical architectural design, strategies, and plans that will be delivered in the engagement. This Specialist assures a solutions technical feasibility, qualifies opportunities, understands customer business and technical environments, ensures successful installation and drives implementation planning. Ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Backup & Restore products such as VERITAS NBU, EMC Legato, IBM Tivoli, CA Arch Serve, and or CommValut. This position requires current implementation skills at the system administrative level using either Red Hat Linux or Solaris Unix. IBMs acquisition of "data deduplication" technology maps to the overall IBM enterprise strategy of developing more efficient, cost effective data centers and will further extend IBMs industry leading storage portfolio. Data deduplication is one of the hottest technology offerings that organizations are investing in today and this product enables IBM to offer a leading edge solution to support data protection, archive and data-retention applications while maintaining the integrity of the data. This becomes part of IBMs New Enterprise Data Center model, which helps clients improve IT efficiency and facilitates the rapid deployment of new IT services for future business growth. According to a recent study of 152 Fortune 1000 enterprises by TheInfoPro, 56 percent of those surveyed spent more on data deduplication in 2007 when compared to 2006, and that increased spending trend is expected to continue in 2008.
