The Wall Street Journal Radio Network services news and information to more than 280 radio stations in the U.S. Position Overview: The Executive Director, Digital Marketing will lead the marketing team for The Wall Street Journal Digital Network, including wsj.com, Marketwatch, Barrons.com, AllThingsD.com, as well as broadband video, mobile, and other emerging digital media. The position will oversee critical audience and revenue growth initiatives, including overall audience development, product promotion, launch communications, and positioning for the network and each of its sites. The position exists within a matrix structure and collaborates with a number of key constituents, including circulation marketing, ad sales marketing, editorial, and product teams to maximize referral traffic, site usage, cross-network promotion, and ultimately revenue. The preferred candidate will bring a track record of ROI-driven online marketing, as well as an bias towards analytical metrics that help grow the business. Primary Responsibilities: . Marketing Strategy - Develop strategic direction online marketing, bringing a command of digital best practices, trends and tools to help position online products, drive traffic and revenue across the companys network of sites, and launch new digital products. . Audience Development - Identify potential sources of traffic, utilizing all available marketing levers to attract the audience, and track ROI metrics to determine optimal marketing mix. Leverage best practices across the marketing mix, including marketing campaigns and promotions, SEO/SEM, syndication partnerships, newsletters, viral/word of mouth, social networking, etc. to extend reach, attract new customers, and drive revenue. Create a dashboard to guide resource allocation/prioritization, and track effectiveness across all marketing channels. . Product Launch Marketing - Lead cross-functional teams to launch new products and services across the network, bringing a marketing perspective to product development, integrated communications planning, tracking success metrics, and evolving the marketing and product plan over time. . Product positioning - Work with cross-functional teams to position the network and its sites for success among the competitive set. Focus on the needs of the consumer to serve core audiences and attract new audiences. . Cross Promotion - Create cross-promotional opportunities to drive traffic throughout the network and its sites to optimize revenue. . Web Analytics - Coordinate among the various groups on how we utilize syndicated research and other available data to track the performance of our websites, identify opportunities and trends, and recommend data-driven strategies to improve our results. Position Requirements Position Requirements: This position requires a candidate who has 10 years experience in online marketing, with a track record of successful team leadership. Successful candidate will be analytical problem-solver with expertise across all areas of digital marketing. Strong written and verbal communication skills essential.
