Description: Job Title eLearning Developer - New York Kaplan Division Kaplan Test Prep City New York State/Province New York FT/PT Full Time Job Level Some Experience Required Working Hours Days Mornings Job Description Kaplans Technology Team is searching for our next eLearning Developer! The eLearning Developer position will include two primary tasks, both of which support the development of Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions (KTPA) online course delivery platform. The first task is production support. The second responsibility is developing new functionality. The specifics of these tasks are presented below. I. Production Support Production support will be the primary task of the eLearning Developer. This includes diagnosing problems (delivery and authoring system issues and bugs), fixing the problems that have been diagnosed, managing releases of the platform from staging to QA and from QA to production, and developing tools for automating releases and product development. It also includes first-line support for the product development team. II. Develop New Functionality This aspect of the eLearning Developers responsibilities will include the tasks associated with analyzing requirements (including creating estimates for development time and setting target development deadlines), sharing design approach, developing the new features, documenting the work that has been created, and supporting the QA of the new feature. III. New Initiatives Part of every job at KTPA is the opportunity to become involved in new initiatives. These new initiatives are for the dual purposes of growth in the individual and the improvement of our business. While these initiatives generally will be within the scope of the responsibilities described above, not all new initiatives will fall neatly within these parameters. Finally, in addition to the responsibilities listed above, the eLearning Developer is expected to take any additional assignments, as warranted, that may transcend the scope of the primary responsibilities that are described above.
