Description: Posting Job Title Duplication Technician-Union TimeWarner Division HBO Location United States - New York - New York Requisition # 100760BR Position Type Full Time Posting Job Description Department Overview Duplication Department services various HBO production divisions i.e.: Sports, Creative Service, Media Relations, Network Quality Control, International and Original Programming. As well as external revenue generating clientele. Primary function is to manage and duplicate content in multiple phases of production in different formats upon request within a workflow of 24/5 with weekend shifts on demand.

The purpose for duplicating content varies: . To screen shows for technical quality and standards. . To create air masters for network broadcast. . To screen show or promotional material for creative content. . To use duplicated content for marketing purposes. . To operate Disaster Recovery file or tape operations for network air.

Position Responsibilities

1. Review, stage and process mixture of duplication work-orders assigned per 8hr plus shift. 2. Based on department protocol screen dubs to insure quality and technical specifications meet network broadcast standards. 3. Review and process all associated work orders per project whether electronic or paper. 4. Coordinate with administration staff job orders are completed in timely, efficient manner. 5. Re-master defective dubs and code cause appropriately. 6. Act as liaison with Engineering to troubleshoot technical and operational issues that impede delivery of content. 7 Develop multi-tasking workflow solutions with concentration on technical standards and throughput including basic edit functions. 8. Review contemporary industry standards to keep abreast with changes in formats and methodologies.

Requirements . Thorough knowledge of..... Digital Betacam Recorders, Sony SRW HD Recorders, Sony Beta SP, DVCPRO format (SD and HD), VHS Duplicators, DVD recording and DV CAM. . High Definition Formats and Conversions. . Familiarity of media file server operations . High Definition video and audio routing systems . Understanding of tape or file automation operating systems . NTSC and PAL standards. . Associated video and audio equipment including audio mixers, aspect ratio converters and Alchemist Standards converter. . Familiarity with Closed and Open Captioning and File Capturing. . Operational PC or Mac computer skill sets required. . Working knowledge of record/play functions for Live Transmissions. . Thorough knowledge of SMPTE standards . Must be skilled in editing with Digital Betacam Recorders, Sony SRW HD Recorders, and Sony Beta SP. . Shift hours to be determined based on skill set and business needs. Overtime required. . Ability to multi-task and acclimate to several working environments within given shift. . Team player with the ability to articulate technical terminology to non-technical staff. . Client service business model which requires flexibility and response . Minimum 3yrs experience in Broadcast or Facility technical operations . Associate or Bachelors degree in related field preferred but not required
