Position Description The District Manager will be responsible for achieving the district sales revenue targets, resource allocation, expense budgets and field personnel, products and services that support the Medtronic Neurological territory. Responsibilities also include recruiting, hiring, developing, and retaining the sales force, developing and maintaining strong relationships with all key account personnel and providing input to the Regional Sales Vice President regarding sales strategies and plans Position Responsibilities POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: . Utilize an appropriate mix of hiring, feedback and coaching and formal on the job training via field visits and phone contact in order to develop a professional sales force . Interpret and explain business/marketing policies and programs to employees in order to maintain consistency and responsiveness to customer needs, ensuring that market and territory strategies are fully executed . Provide direction, to employees, and communicate competitive data. . Ensure all field personnel are meeting or exceeding all objectives set including both revenue based objectives and market development objectives . Recruit, interview, and hire talented field personnel for district . Ensure that new sales staff receives appropriate orientation and training . Develop and maintain strong relationships with all key account personnel within the district in order to support selling, market development and service efforts and clinical programs . Maintain and analyze sales data and records on each territory in order to ensure progress for achieving district goals as well as understand and proactively manage market trends . Monitors assigned cost centers effectively managing selling expenses for the district . Provides input to the Regional Sales Vice President on sales direction, strategies, vision as well as recommendations for promotions, staffing needs, new product indications and product acceptance . Other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: . 5+ years work experience with BA or BS degree in business, health care or related field. . 5+ years experience working in a team-oriented sales environment. . 3 + years implementation and/or development of marketing programs . Minimum 3 years experience in negotiating contract. . 5+ plus years of successful medical sales experience to surgeons, administrative staff, and payors. . 3+ years of implantable device selling experience strongly preferred . 3+ years of successful sales management experience preferred. Desired/Preferred Qualifications DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (optional): . Thorough understanding Neuros business environment . Demonstrated creative coaching for field personnel recognizing different styles and types of motivation . Outstanding execution & organization skills . Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects and deadlines . Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills . Ability to analyze financial data . Proven success in building a team and developing sales strategies . Ability to balance company and customer goals . Demonstrates effective understanding of profitability Physical Job Requirements PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS (optional): . May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds . Sitting, standing and/or walking for up to eight hours per day . Operating a moving vehicle . Environmental exposures include eye protection, infectious disease and radiation . Possess manual dexterity, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. . Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in relation to travel and operating a personal computer. . Must be insurable and maintain a valid drivers license. . Must be able to drive approximately 80%% of the time within assigned territory.
