Description: BusinessWeek is seeking a Director, Business Operations who will be responsible for: overseeing BW's revenue tracking system (order entry function and staff); sales reporting for senior management, finance, marketing and sales organization; working with billing and facilitating A/R collections process. The position reports to the VP of Finance, BW, but also works closely in providing excellent customer internal service for BW sales, marketing, production and corporate A/R.%%0A %%0A Responsibilities include:%%0A %%0A - Developing the architecture for Business Week's information management tracking system (Admarc), overseeing team of six in order entry, billing and reporting, for both print and online products%%0A - Develop and oversee all global revenue reporting for use by sales, a critical tool in developing and executing recurring and new business%%0A o Establishing existing and new revenue reports for sales and financial management, including standardized and ad hoc reporting%%0A o Analyze business trends and identify needs and sales opportunities. %%0A o Develop systematic approaches to tracking business by working with sales management and senior management%%0A - Financial analysis of revenue bookings, data, trends for finance, sales, marketing, as well as senior management%%0A - Provide critical data for sales management in tracking running and developing business%%0A - Determine strategic direction of information technology to manage process. Current information architecture includes Admarc, Salesforce.com and DART%%0A - Manage the daily billing and information management activities of the Business Department for all BW products: BW Global, SmallBiz, BWDigital, Conferences, TV, Events, Local Language editions, etc.%%0A - Work with A/R in collections best practices. Serve as liason between corporate A/R and sales teams in driving improved collections, and conduct detailed reviews of specific advertiser/agency accounts as necessary%%0A - Manage and maintain Admarc billing system and sales forecast system. Create and communicate policies and procedures. Establish controls and security functionality for processing and tracking. Review, recommend and manage implementation of system enhancements and modifications.%%0A - In conjunction with the sales staff and sales management, assist in developing custom proposals and contracts. Provide support to all levels of management through account tracking and reporting%%0A - Interface with the Business Week Financial management and staff on all products general ledger and accounting issues, budget development and tracking, and commission reporting.%%0A - Manage a six person Business Operations staff. Establish priorities, policies and procedures for order entry, billing, and information management tracking. Responsible for managing staff, and training and education of direct reports (including cross training) and oversees all supervisory aspects for the billing analysts%%0A - Oversight and testing of all internal controls for Order Entry, Operations & Commissions%%0A - All aspects related to sales commissions processing: sales commissions planning, analysis, oversight, contract implementation and execution%%0A Lead special projects such as sales promotions, the annual customers account assignments, internal surveys, support sales and finance in analyzing new product introductions, etc%%0A * 5-7 years of financial operations or accounting experience%%0A * Strong analytical and statistical skills and background in financial analysis%%0A * Knowledge of the following databases preferred: Admarc, DART, salesforce.com. Experienced working with technology systems and databases required%%0A * Strong leadership experience in managing team, and interactive with executives at all levels across sales, marketing and finance%%0A * Experience working in customer service oriented environment; ability to multi-task and prioritize%%0A
