Director, Business Development – East Region

Main Responsibilities for position:

* Achieve new business sales of online marketing services with a focus on online, digital/email marketing, and includes search, microsites, websites, acquisition services, dynamic web personalization * Responsible for Acxiom Digital, West Region sales activities including: initiating contact with potential new clients, defining the scope of the relationship, responding to RFP’s, identifying profitable deal points, conducting sales meetings, scoping, writing and closing contracts, managing the implementation within the organizationand closing new business * Generate quality revenue and accounts of F2000 companies and work with a team to provide solutions that solve prospects marketing challenges * Think strategically about the industry and Acxiom Digital solutions, and marketing objectives of target verticals ( including Telecom, Financial Services, Retail, T&E, Technology and Media/Publishing) * Report regularly on sales pipeline, forecasts sales volumes for all products/channels * Be a team player,contribute new ideas to benefit the overall business, have a positive attitude

Acxiom Digital, the leader in online direct marketing solutions for enterprises has an immediate opening for a business development professional. This person will be responsible for growing our F500 list of clients by strategically selling online direct marketing services and solutions to marketing executives in the West Region. Our current list of blue-hip clients includes: The Gap, HP, Wells Fargo, FedEx, Comcast, Marriott Hotels. Skills required: · Working knowledge of email marketing, search, websites and related enterprise online marketing solutions · Consultative and Marketing approach · Ability to sell IMPACT email technology solution and understand marketing programs of F2000 companies · Successful networking, specifically within F2000 companies · Qualifying an opportunity – Including size, budget, decision maker, timeline, current challenges, technology issues, etc. · Strategic selling – Ability to see, understand and scope the complexities of large, enterprise deals and drive the process to close as quickly as possible · Demonstrated ability to call at executive levels and build solid relationships with decision makers as well as use team members to build relationships throughout an organization · Ability to manage large, complex contracts through multiple decision-makers and procurement departments · Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can work as part of a team to develop new enterprise deals from beginning to close. · Excellent presentation skills · Proven contract negotiation skills · Exceptional written and verbal skills · PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills

Experience required · 5 years selling experience within F2000 client base closing deals with an average contract size of at least $250K, preferably selling marketing programs or technologies/services at the executive marketing level · Bachelors degree

Industry Knowledge Desired · Ad agency, Online marketing, Email marketing, Search, Web development, Direct Marketing, Database marketing, Loyalty marketing, CRM · Contacts/Experience within the Retail, Financial Services, Technology, Telecom, Media/Publishing Travel & Entertainment industries

Desired Qualifications · Interactive agency or Technology/Software experience preferred · Strong marketing and consultative skills focused in direct marketing and a strategic, big-picture sales approach with strong experience in one or more of the following areas: email marketing, direct marketing, database/loyalty marketing, CRM or interactive/web development. · A driven self-starter with a passion for the online marketing space · Ability to deal with complex sales cycles spanning 6-12 months
