Director, Business Continuity & Crisis Mmanagement

ABC News Operationshas an opening for aDirector, Business Continuity & Crisis Management. The Director is the point person for any crisis arising from significant interruption in the production, technical or physical plant operation of the News division and will work with the appropriate Operations Executive(s) and News leadership. The Director will oversee the effort to return adequate service as soon as possible, plan for the resumption of full service, and direct the root cause analysis and remediation. Responsibilities include proactive identification and assessment of risks and gaps, development of action plans to eliminate or mitigate risk, plan maintenance and verification, and promotes business continuity through training and awareness. The Director will also plan and manage the regular and ordinary interruptions in production, technical or physical services. Work with Disney-ABC business continuity teams as appropriate. The Director reports to the Vice President, News Technology.

Requirements: 5+ years experience in business continuity and crisis management. Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work and communicate across and at all levels of the organization. Strong analytical ability, organizational ability, and planning skills. Ability to develop and manage budgets. Strong computer skills. Customer service focused.

Desired: Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) or comparable accreditation. Media industry experience. Familiarity with communications tools and PC’s used in News production.
