Description: Dir - Marketing Strategies Full Time Regular posted 09/12/2008 New York, NY Requirements Position Overview The Director of Marketing Strategy will be an integral leader within the marketing function. This person will oversee strategic marketing initiatives and partnerships. Primary Responsibilities: . Collaborate with senior management to: o develop and implement short and long-term marketing strategies focused on increasing traffic, sales, and margin across brands and within specific categories - includes developing seasonal campaign strategy, driving growth within core business categories (e.g., Suits, Dresses, Pants, and Petites) o build brand awareness and drive demand creation for new category launches e.g., Beauty, Celebrations, Maternity, Curvy, and Beach . Provide strategic input in the development of a brand vision. Spearhead cross-functional and cross-department meetings to ensure seamless integration of both long-term seasonal campaigns and short-term tactical efforts. Work closely across departments (Creative, Visual, .com, Merchants, Planning/Allocations, Store Communications and Marketing Functions (PR, Media, Direct Mail, and Marketing Services) to ensure all are delivering against marketing brief. . Analyze marketing effectiveness for seasonal campaigns and category launches by identifying and measuring key criteria and metrics including qualitative and quantitative analysis of brand tracking reports, consumer insights, associate feedback, traffic and conversion reports, as well as key business metrics e.g., average transaction values, sell through, and comparative sales figures . Lead quarterly cross functional hindsight and competitive review process to assess results and highlight insights resulting in actionable go-forward strategies . Drive outreach initiatives (evaluate and recommend) that build connection between target consumers and the brand e.g. plans to reach teachers, young professionals, graduate students as well as development of "bartering partnership" with relevant brands and organizations . Develop an intimate understanding of the and represent the brand POV for any and all cross-business initiatives, ensuring strategic and creative consistency. . Manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective and economical allocation of resources.
Qualifications and Position Requirements: . Minimally 5-7 years experience in marketing/media . Retail experience a plus but not mandatory . Experience interfacing with senior leadership . Proven data analysis and presentation skills. . Excellent verbal and written communication skills. . Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. . Willingness to roll-up sleeves and manage tactics of initiatives as well as long-term strategy. . Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives while fostering strong working relationships. . Extremely proactive with desire to continuously improve current business practices / processes. . Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
