Description: |My Career Center|View Job Cart| Dir - Marketing (Lancome Makeup - Lip) uslo-00005269 Marketing 1010 - Lancome New York NY FUNCTION: Director, Makeup Marketing  Reports to Vice President, Makeup Marketing  Manage staff of two RESPONSIBILITIES: Product Development: Track and evaluate all new product lab samples. Propose and oversee development of concepts, product names, shade names and package copy. Work closely with International Marketing counterparts to ensure U.S. needs are met. Determine need gaps in portfolio. Prepare lab briefs for new products with concept, claims and formula direction / benchmarks. Develop all shade ranges and U.S. color promotions. Monitor and track new product trends and technology through all available trade magazines/journals/newspapers. Track all new/upcoming launches. Analyze their strategic importance to the marketplace and the results / business impact. Knowledge of all industry trends, as well as those impacting makeup trends: fashion / demographic / sociological trends. Operational Marketing: Prepare monthly Project Review meetings with US laboratories (agendas and recaps). Prepare bi-weekly packaging and timetable meetings (agendas and recaps). Ensure all launch timetables are met. Work with Market Research and establish appropriate test plans for new products. Ensure that all consumer research objectives are clearly stated and met. Assist in the development of the questionnaire and subsequent review/analysis of data. Coordinate the timely production of test samples. Prepare creative brief and establish advertising strategy with agency to develop print and television advertising. Work with Creative Design to implement marketing direction on launch displays, and various collateral. Propose and budget marketing programs to support brands. Follow through with all details of execution. Prepare annual budget for samples, print, displays, testers, shopping bags, mailers & special events/tools. Update budget on a timely basis. Work with Finance to determine budget trend versus actual. Analyze all pertinent costs on finished goods, samples and collateral. Monitor inventory levels for retail and promotional items to ensure appropriate stock levels. Prepare information for bi-annual phase-out decisions, reviewing obsolete inventory levels and lost revenue implications. Maintain field contact for sell-thru information, product feedback. Initiate trademark requests from Legal and ensure Legal/R&D approval of all advertising, package copy.
REQUIREMENTS: REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of five years experience in a cosmetics or consumer package goods marketing capacity. At least two years experience managing a staff. Strong analytical skills; good interpersonal skills and ability to get things done through others. Strong presentation skills are important. Creative skills are a strong asset.
