The Role Bloomberg Press, the award-winning book-publishing arm of Bloomberg L.P., is expanding and seeking a Developmental Editor. The person in this role will edit challenging manuscripts on the financial markets and the issues that affect them. This person will work in a dynamic publishing environment inside our fast-paced Bloomberg News department. Candidates must have at least five years of experience in book publishing, with a background in developmental editing and rewriting. A familiarity with the financial markets is preferred. The Developmental Editor will be part of the editorial team that reviews proposals for financial titles for the Bloomberg Press imprint. Once the proposal has been signed, the candidate will need to work closely with the author in developing the manuscript-s structure and content. This individual will also be responsible for writing jacket copy, managing author correspondence and meetings, and coordinating key dates with production and marketing. Good interpersonal skills and an ability to meet deadlines are a must. Qualifications: -Bachelor-s degree or equivalent experience -Understanding of financial markets -Excellent writing and editing skills -Minimum of five years of relevant editing experience
