Position Purpose: The purpose of this role is to design and develop various front office application solutions for pricing and risk systems. Key Accountabilities: Leadership and Strategic Thinking . Designs and implements solutions that can be reused in other projects or for similar purposes . Focuses on making development for business components easier by ensuring stable and generic core components . Actively contributes new ideas and different perspectives to solutions Primary Objectives: . Design and implement various application components within a team . Partner with Fixed Income core frameworks team and deliver high-quality solutions that can be reused by other teams . Validate overall application design and make sure that applicable technologies are being used . Work closely with QA team to ensure high quality of the product . Work with Business Analysts to come up with non-trivial optimal IT solutions for business problems . Perform design and code reviews . Establish best practices within a development team to make them more productive and efficient and mentor team members . Assist in the evaluation of third party products to make buy vs. build decisions Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience): Technical Skills . 3+ years of experience with object oriented languages and design patterns (Java) . Experience with Swing/SWT/Eclipse RCP . Experience developing, maintaining, and deploying enterprise quality applications . Strong computer science fundamentals (i.e. data structures, algorithms, threading) . Knowledge of messaging technologies (RMDS, RV, JMS) . Knowledge of vendor development products and open source initiatives and tools . Experience with Agile style development methods . Experience with scripting languages (Ant, Perl, etc.) Business Knowledge . Moderate understanding of fixed income products Core Behaviors: .
