BearingPoints Financial Services Infrastructure Group is currently searching for experienced Data Center Senior Consultant.

Logistics: - Preference will be given to candidates local to New York area / New Jersey area. - Candidates must have the ability to accommodate a Monday-Friday travel schedule if needed (between 50%% to 100%% travel may be required)

Key Responsibilities: -Responsible for data center design, build and migration / consolidation. -Making recommendations for products, instrumentation and operational/design guidelines to accommodate new application computing requirements -Manage client relationships -Continually develop engagement management skills, functional business understanding and knowledge of IT solutions in order to provide current, relevant engagement management -Provide organizational leadership and mentor junior team members. Qualifications: -In-depth knowledge (5+ years) of modern data center management, current building design (basic understanding), capacity design (ability to compute power requirements, design power distribution, sizing emergency generators, compute cooling requirement, etc.), construction (solid understanding of site selection, site analysis such as ability to read contour and topographic maps, and survey report; working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC blueprints, conduit design) , fit-out (understanding of the operations of generator, switchgear, load bank, load distribution, fire suppression, fluid dynamics, and climate control, etc.), and security (access security, surveillance, and zone-based defense) - In-depth understanding of high-availability design, and computation of probability of availability. - Solid understanding of green field and retro-fit building construction processes and practices. - Solid understanding of MDF and IDF designs - 5-10 years of experience in data center operations including organizational planning, staffing, budgeting (CapEx and OpEx) and maintenance - Familiarity with industry standards including ASHRAE, Uptime Institute Tier Specifications, BICSI, IEEE and TIA/EIA (LEED knowledge a plus) -Ability to review current and future state IT requirements and determine optimal floor plan, rack layout/densities, and power and cooling designs - 5+ years of experience overseeing multiple project resources including IT Infrastructure, Construction Management, Commissioning Agent, D&E firm, General Contractor, and rack and cabling vendor(s) - Ability to work with both facilities, finance, and IT teams to ensure optimal data center design - Understanding of telecommunications structured cabling design and implementation - Working knowledge of IT Infrastructure including networks, servers and operating systems, and storage - Thorough familiarity with blue prints and construction documentation - Experience in working with senior executives and able to work with a diverse team and under minimum supervision - Experience in working with large global organizations and knowledge of green data center design a plus - Able to travel domestically and internationally between 50%% to 100%% of the time. - Good presentation and communication skills.
