Description: %%0A Paralegal - Private Bank Law — Alternative Investments%%0A %%0A %%0A The JPMorgan Chase Legal Department is seeking a paralegal to join its Private Bank legal team to support the Alternative Investments Group (“AIG”) within the Private Bank. The AIG identifies, performs due diligence with respect to, and markets to Private Bank clients alternative investments such as private equity funds, hedge funds, real estate funds and other alternative investment vehicles. The AIG generated substantial revenues during the past year and is a key business within the Private Bank. %%0A %%0A As a paralegal supporting the AIG, you will work closely with attorneys and business people to assist in all facets of legal support of the AIG. In this role, you will handle multiple projects simultaneously and have extensive contact with a variety of business personnel. In particular, your responsibilities will include the following:%%0A%%0A * Review and approval of documents relating to subscriptions for and transfers of interests in private funds, and work with bankers to correct any errors%%0A * Legal assistance in marketing process, including responding to questions about legal and regulatory qualifications for investing%%0A * Assist attorneys in drafting and reviewing fund and other documentation%%0A * Provide general assistance to attorneys on legal matters * Qualifications Excellent organizational skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Polished verbal and writing skills Must be a self-starter with the ability to monitor own workload to meet work goals. Ability to handle several projects simultaneously Ability to work under tight deadlines Education and Experience 4-year college degree Experience in Microsoft Word, Lotus Notes, Excel is required; Westlaw, LEXIS is desirable 1-3 years paralegal experience, preferably in investment management, desirable Previous experience in law firm or financial institution a plus
