More Info United Nations Core Values: Integrity, Professionalism, Respect for Diversity Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Information Management Unit in the Quality Assurance and Information Management Section of the Field Personnel Division (FPD), the incumbent is responsible for the following: . Provide system and user support for Nucleus and Galaxy, IMIS (within FPD scope), Field Personnel Management System (FPMS) and other Lotus Notes based systems and databases; . Prepare technical and user documentation for deployed systems; . Coordinate and train users from FPD, field missions and other offices in the usage of relevant modules of Nucleus, FPMS and Galaxy; . Capture and document requirements for future development of FPD systems; . Perform unit and system testing of Nucleus and quality assurance tasks; . Meet/liaise with IMU programmers to clarify issues related to end-users requests, program limited enhancements to Nucleus modules; . Program and troubleshoot enhancements for all Lotus Notes systems used by FPD including FPMS; . Support the FPD Statistics database and develop and maintain all ad-hoc and regular statistical reports, including high profile reports for legislative bodies, other departments, and senior management of DPKO/DFS; . Coordinate implementation of various Nucleus modules and Matrix attendance system in the field; . Maintain and troubleshoot the upload of FPMS data into the e-PAS system and into the FPMS consolidated database. Competencies . Professionalism: Ability to perform a wide range of application software development and maintenance tasks; knowledge of the UNs information infrastructure, hardware, software and systems; knowledge of HRM policies, processes and procedures in general and those related to software development, implementation and evaluation, operations and maintenance; ability to understand workflow and document flow processes; ability to gather information from a wide variety of standard and non-standard sources. QUALIFICATIONS Education High school diploma or equivalent. Must have passed the United Nations Administrative Support Assessment Test (ASAT) at New York Headquarters. Work Experience Several years of experience in the field of communication and information technology, including areas such as systems analysis and programming, systems administration and maintenance, software development, technical writing. Experience within the UN system in the field of human resources management is desirable. Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language, preferably French, is desirable. Other Skills Knowledge of the current HRM IT systems (IMIS, Nucleus and FPMS) required; working knowledge of MS SQL for complex queries of HRM databases required; programming in T-SQL required.
