WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION? The candidate will be assigned to the New York City Regional Office Marine Unit New Business Team. The candidate should be able to review, underwrite and rate and prep for issue most lines of inland marine and property business according to established service and QA standards, and handle telephone calls from agents, and provide assistance to Sales CSR’s and Business Center Underwriters as necessary..

Qualifications WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? The ideal candidate will be an experienced Commercial Inland and Ocean Marine Underwriter with some exposure to property. As a Commercial Marine Underwriter, the position will produce and underwrite Commercial Inland Marine, Ocean Cargo, and Property business. The primary responsibility will be new business development and retaining profitable renewals. This will be accomplished by devoting 40 - 50%% of their time out of the office attending scheduled producer visits, soliciting new business, working renewals, and making account presentations. There will be no overnight travel required for this territory. There will be occasional overnight travel required for training / seminars and meetings. This position will support the New York City territory. This position is eligible for an annual bonus which is based on achieving results in production and profit objectives.
