Job description A Pre-Sales individual responsible for developing and delivering compelling Cognos solutions. The Solution Architect leverages techniques such as Demonstrations and Proofs of Concept in order to demonstrate value to the customer, as well a confidence in Cognos ability to deliver the proposed solution. The SA works in conjunction with other Solution Architects in deals where specialized talent is required. List the top three essential job responsibilities critical to this role. . Strategic business partner to the Sales Representative . Develop and deliver compelling product demonstrations which tie Cognos technology to Customer Value . Ability to manage technical aspects of account and/or opportunities Additional responsibilities: . Delivery of Proof of Concepts . Drive solution selling methodology with Sales Representative in deals . Provide technical assistance for Marketing activities o Regional Workshops o User Group Meetings o Sales Seminars o Trade Shows Experience: Bachelors degree preferred and 3-7yrs presales or consulting experience Travel Required; amount varies by group . Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills . Highly versed in proof of concept and demonstration strategies to drive successful sales cycles . Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies . Adherence to, and management of, the solution selling methodology . Working knowledge of relational databases and reporting systems, operating systems and other technology platforms.
