General Description: The Workforce1 Career Center provides New York City job seekers with professional career, employment and training services that prepare them to conduct successful job searches and enter their career of choice. The Workshop Facilitator is responsible for leading a variety of workshops including: resume building, resume upgrades, job readiness, interview skills, job search strategies, training exploration, and orientation sessions. Working both in group and individual modalities, the successful candidate will also identify needs for additional workshops, and design and effectively implement them. The candidate will utilize technology and online career assessment instruments available in the resource room; assist customers in identifying career interests and skills; develop customer employment plans; and help customers secure satisfying employment. Other Duties: • Conducts daily orientations and workshops and provides career guidance to customers. • Administers and interprets career inventories and assists clients in setting and implementing career and training goals. • Takes proactive actions to serve and refer customers in accordance with the requirements of the program and based on customer goals. • Motivates customers to persist in the career development process. • Works effectively with employment specialists, training programs, and administrative staff to ensure the smooth referral of customers from counselors or training programs to employment services. • Utilizes monthly reports to monitor success and implement strategies to improve performance.Salary:$42,000 - $47,000 Core Competencies/Qualifications: Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred with one year experience in the career counseling/advisement field. Must be able to plan and conduct career workshops and individual and group career counseling sessions. Excellent knowledge of career counseling tools and strategies. Strong computer skills and familiarity with MS Office and database systems. Excellent customer service skills; must be energetic and well organized Excellent oral and written skills; bilingual speaker preferred Experienced and skilled in working with a diverse population. Position will remain open until filled.
