The Vice President of Human Resources Asia will be responsible for developing and implementing human resource strategies and programs, and building HR capability and infrastructure for Arrow Electronics' rapidly growing Asia Pacific businesses. This individual will work closely with the leaders of the Arrow Asia businesses and HR Global Centers of Excellence (COE) to implement the overall HR policies/processes and strategy for; compensation, benefits, talent management, performance management and infrastructure programs. The HR Vice President will be a part of the Asia Pacific Senior Leadership team, as well as the Global HR leadership team. Responsibilities: · Partner closely with Arrow Asia leadership team (regional and country levels) in planning and implementing HR initiatives to help drive towards our goal of being the clear number one in our industry. This is derived from our commitment to shared leadership, operational excellence, financial stability, and growing the business. · As a senior member of the global HR team, you will need to actively participate in promoting a global mindset consistent with our "One HR" approach in serving the needs of our business line partners, as well as, our HR colleagues around the world. · Provide HR counsel to leadership team for all Arrow Asia, including management coaching and leadership of organizational change initiatives. · Lead, manage, and build a team of direct and functional staff of approximately 30 human resources employees including HR generalist, functional specialist, and HR administrators. He/she will also be responsible for designing and implementing HR programs based on country, regional, and global requirements. · Work with Global COE's to develop, design and implement HR process and programs for our Asia Pacific countries (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, India, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Philippines, New Zealand and Australia) with an ability to influence and make a business case for local requirements. · Working effectively within a fast paced, dynamic, growing and regionally/globally matrixed organization. · Implement HR programs and processes related to staffing, on-boarding/assimilation, compliance, compensation, benefits, performance management, succession planning, employee relations and learning/development. Focus on operational excellence and process improvement. · Actively lead M&A related activities from an HR and business leadership standpoint to include due diligence, integration planning and implementation. Provide consultation and coaching to the management and HR teams to ensure successful execution of M&A plans. · Work with our ERP (enterprise resource planning) team to implement our transformational global process improvement initiative. · Partner with Legal, Accounting, Finance, and relevant business areas within Arrow to drive business needs/growth, and processes across the region. · Ensure corporate wide and local total reward programs are communicated and implemented in a manner that are understood, aligned to the business and flawlessly executed. · Working with management to assess employees' roles and skills to ensure we have the talent and development plans to meet the needs of the business now and in the future. · Provide management coaching, succession planning and recommendations for development. · Provide leadership and guidance to ensure the HR "fundamentals" are in place to support the business. · You will need to be very strategic yet understand the operational elements of the regional HR function. Requirements: · Minimum 15 years of Human Resources experience with 10 years in a leadership capacity. Experience should include leading and managing in a regional role. · Ability to work and communicate effectively across countries and regions - often working on global project teams. · Experience in HR strategic planning, compliance, recruitment, employee relations, HRIS, Benefits, Compensation, Performance Management and Organizational Development. · Advanced training and experience in a rapidly changing environment. · Experience in various HR disciplines and the ability to build and develop those capabilities within the Asia HR community. · A strong bias for operational excellence and process improvement (including key metrics). · International HR experience required; experience across multiple geographies strongly preferred. · Ability to travel extensively throughout the region on a consistent basis with cross region/global travel several times a year. · Experience working with a US or Europe headquartered company preferred. Knowledge and experience in Arrow's industry a plus (EMS, OEM, Semi-conductor suppliers, distribution related companies) · Understanding of employment laws applicable to major countries in the region. · Fluent in written and verbal English. Ability to speak and read Chinese highly desirable. · Culturally sensitive approach in the design and implementation of programs. · Ability to effectively build lasting relationships by demonstrating strong communication and influencing skills throughout all levels of the organization. · Ability to champion continuous process improvement. Knowledge of six sigma tools is desirable. · Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, HR or related area.
