Description: %%0A %%0A Nalco has an opening for a Technical Service Specialist in our WaterServ Group located in New York City, NY. The Technical Service Specialist will primarily be responsible for working as on-site experts to improve the customer's boiler, cooling tower and wastewater treatment programs through our chemical treatment and consultative services. Candidates may be required to climb stairs, work from a ladder, lift and move loads up to 50 pounds. %%0A %%0A Other Responsibilities include:%%0A%%0A * Provide contractual service and assists customers with problem solving support regarding the company's products/applications/solutions. Experience and knowledge in, but not limited to company products.%%0A * Provide on-site field service and/or 24-hour over-the-phone or on-site assistance. %%0A * Conduct site surveys, product/application/system audits, and assist sales representatives in preparing new business proposals. You will work with customer facility engineers to improve the efficiency of the their plant operations.%%0A * Additional duties can include -- but are not limited to -- performing equipment installation, repair and calibration; recommending changes in chemical dosage, feed rates, or equipment; monitoring chemical inventory; and providing service reports and maintaining current operation manuals. %%0A * This position has a base salary plus a company vehicle.%%0A * Residence location is flexible within the greater metro area of New York City, NY.%%0A%%0A%%0A The minimum qualifications the candidate will have include: %%0A%%0A * %%0A A valid driver's license and good driving record are required. %%0A%%0A * %%0A Education, driver and criminal background checks will be done on all candidates of interest prior to being hired.%%0A%%0A%%0A The desired candidate will have professional experience to include:%%0A%%0A * %%0A The desired candidate should have mechanical and electrical aptitude and have experience in industrial and manufacturing environments. %%0A%%0A * Proficiency in computer skills that include word, excel and power point are desired for this position.%%0A * Excellent oral and written communications skills are also needed for this position. %%0A%%0A %%0A Who We Are%%0A Nalco Company is the world's leading water treatment and process improvement company.
