Description: Senior Planner -Capital Facilities/Master Planning Department:CUNY Dept. of Space Planning Location:CUNY Central Issue Date:Tuesday, July 15, 2008 PVN Number:RAD-247

General Description: The Department of Space Planning (SP) determines campus space needs and prepares physical master plans for the 21 CUNY campuses; develops capital projects to be requested from the State and City or funded through private donations or public/private partnerships; participates in the preparation of the Universitys annual Capital Budget Request and coordinates College requests for Borough President and City Council capital funding; performs space utilization studies and maintains space inventory database of all the Universitys facilities.

The Department invites applications for possible full-time positions, administered by the CUNY Research Foundation, as follows: Other Duties: Responsibilities include performing master plan, feasibility and room utilization studies; and preparation of capital project requests in coordination with the Departments of Capital Budget and Design, Construction and Management. Interacts with colleges and consultants.Salary:$70,000 - 85,000 Core Competencies/Qualifications: Must have Bachelors degree in urban/city/regional planning, architecture, landscape architecture or related field; minimum 5 years professional planning experience in higher education and 3 years supervisory experience. Excellent computer skills required, including word processing and spreadsheet experience (Word, Excel, Powerpoint required; Crystal Reports desirable.) Public agency experience,Masters degree, professional registration preferable.
