Description of Duties The primary purpose of this job is to effective gather and analyze of data needed for financial analysis for medical premium and claims expenses. * Prepare financial and medical analysis at general ledger account and expense level, perform special projects, develop and maintain large databases in MS Access to meet corporate needs for analyses and root-cause investigations. * Compile information from various sources, including but not limited to Data Warehouse, MS Access, PeopleSoft and mainframe, into comprehensive documents and manipulate large amounts of data from varied sources. * Assist with the preparation and evaluation of multi-dimensional (line of business, delivery system, etc.) corporate premium and medical expense budget and forecasts. * Download reports and queries in support of monthly, quarterly and annual analyses. * Assist with the preparation of premium related schedules for statutory reporting to NYS Department of Insurance and regulatory reporting to NYS Department of Health. * Provide standard reports and respond to high volume of ad-hoc reports from all levels of the corporation, including senior management. Manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, data driven environment. * Participate in the development of internal controls and ensure SOX compliance as it relates to spreadsheet and database controls. * Provide data support and analyses to operational departments to meet the corporate strategic goals and enable better business decisions.

Requirements Knowledge Skills & Abilities: * Provide data, analyses and documentation for budgeting, forecasting and other analyses in a timely manner. * Demonstrate strong analytical and interpretation skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines. * Expert in Microsoft Access, Excel and Word. * Expert in Cognos Impromptu or other Data warehouse report writing. * Solid verbal and written communication skills. * Advanced experience with Information Management/Analysis within a heath care environment. * Self motivated and ability to work independently. * Bachelors degree in Business Management or Accounting or Finance or Computing * Healthcare Financial experience a plus with a minimum seven (7) to ten (10) years experience in financial and operational data analyses and reporting capacity. Expertise in the areas of enrollment, premiums and claims preferred.
