Job Description: Working closely with VP Publicity, the publicist will plan, manage and implement effective publicity campaigns for BBC America. This will include profile-raising events, award campaigns, public affairs campaigns and outreach. Specific responsibilities include organization of events for BBCA and other BBCWWA buisinesses, coordination of internal communications, creation of trade press materials, oversee and direct BBCA viewer relations. The publicist should also seek to develop excellent contacts across TV, entertainment, internet and trade press. Requirements A self-starter with experience in publicity and/or PR in television or other related media, who is capable of juggling and setting own priorities. Event and talent management skills. Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to convey information succinctly and effectively in writing, by telephone and in person. Knowledge of the U.S. industry landscape and consumer and trade media for all BBCWA consumer facing businesses. The ability to work effectively within a team and pro-actively contribute to overall goals, as well as being enthusiastic and having a flexible approach.
