General Description: - Provide individual career advisement and counseling, resume assistance and interview prep for Brooklyn EOC career and technical program students and graduates entering IT industry, office support, bookkeeping and allied health fields - Ensure development of job readiness skills for all graduating students - Incorporate the use of technology in skills assessment and job search - Refer job ready students/graduates to the placement managers - Follow up and track students/graduates who use Career Services - Work with faculty, counseling and other personnel who provide support services to students - Generate and submit reports to departments and agencies Other Duties: Screen new students, build career profiles. Provide info to students regarding certification and civil service requirements.Salary:$35/hr 15-18 hours per week Core Competencies/Qualifications: Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred in Student Counseling, Education, Business, Human Resources or related field. Experience in career advisement or placement required. Two to three years experience in higher education or adult environment is required. Familiarity with workforce development issues is necessary, as is computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office suite. Position will remain open until filled.
