General Description: Overview:

The CUNY Institute for Software Design and Development (CISDD), created by the CUNY Board of Trustees in January 2000, works to promote economic development in New York City. CISDD manages several IT internship programs; provides specialized professional development courses and training; and pairs CUNYs faculty and students with software industry professionals and governmental institutions to sponsor and develop research that can facilitate the creation of new and marketable software technologies and job opportunities.

CISDD is seeking an entrepreneurial and self-motivated individual with excellent project management and interpersonal skills to manage the expansion of the Citywide Information Technology Internship (CITY) Program into the Department of Education. The CITY Program supplies information technology interns to city government agencies.

The position is funded through June, with the potential for yearly renewal. It also has the potential to turn into a full-time position if the expansion is successful. Other Duties: The project coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of all Department of Education accounts. The project coordinator will report to the project director and carry out all the programs day-to-day activities, including but not limited to ? marketing the program; ? screening resumes and candidates; ? coaching candidates on resume and interview skills; ? maintaining resume database; ? processing new hires; ? overseeing payroll processing; ? managing the budget; ? generating required budgets, reports, and other documentation; ? liasioning with interns and the Department of Education; ? carrying out other related responsibilities, as deemed necessary.Salary:$20-25/hour, 20-25 hours/week + benefits Core Competencies/Qualifications: BA degree required. Experience in student development, workforce development, project management, staffing, or human resources. Proven ability to work with diverse populations. Extremely organized and detail-oriented. Excellent communication, judgment, and interpersonal skills. Some experience working with budgets. Flexibility and adaptability are especially critical, especially as this is a pilot program and processes are still in development and could change as the program unfolds.

Familiarity with IT concepts and terminology and/or the Department of Education a plus.
