General Description: The Program Coordinator will report to the Associate Director of the Workforce Education Center.
1. Organize programs outreach and recruitment. 2. Supervise maintenance of program files and documents. 3. Monitor program objectives and outcomes. 4. Supervise and monitor program adjuncts. 5. Prepare program reports.
Plane, direct, coordinate and oversee education and employment services to low-income youth in three youth programs. Recruit and supervise staff and volunteers. Oversee and perform outreach, public relations, advocacy and education and training. Interface and work cooperatively with social service providers, community members and agency staff. Oversee and/or establish and maintain outreach contacts with related agencies, groups, businesses and individual. Provide and/or organize educational materials. Represent the Programs to agency staff and directors, outside agencies, and general public Other Duties: Program Services: 1. Implement program services-including on and off site services 2. Coordinate program activities following contractual requirements and to ensure compliance. 3. Maintain program activity statistics and prepare reports. 4. Arrange for training of staff and volunteers. 5. Monitor the of program participants and potential employers, re- evaluate and determine service needs.
Fiscal Operations; 1. Maintain fiscal records. 2. Evaluate financial reports: recommend budget modifications as needed. 3. Identify and secure new sources of funding through such action as grand writing.
Reporting: 1. Ensure and provide accurate documentation of program activities. 2. Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports to funding agencies. 3. Prepare materials for annual report and audit.Salary:$40,000-$45,000 Core Competencies/Qualifications: Core Competencies./Qualifications: 1. Knowledge of program administration and employment training programs with at least one years experience preferred in the field of managing employment-related services to a low income population, including recruitment and training. 2. Knowledge and familiarity with the network of employment training, social service and related agencies as well as geography, preferred. 3. Commitment to the goal of empowerment of low-income persons of all ages and backgrounds, to attain the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to become self-sufficient and to advocate on behalf of themselves and others. 4. Organizational ability: experience in giving and following directions as well as keeping accurate records. 5. Ability to collect data and prepare reports, statistical and narrative. 6. Ability to plan programs, create budgets and supervise personnel. 7. Ability to recruit, train, and supervise employees and volunteers of varied economic and cultural backgrounds. 8. Knowledge and demonstrated experience in grant and proposal development and fund raising preferred. 8. Bachelors degree and 3-5 years of experience in progressively responsible positions working with youth. 9. Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively. 10. Familiarity with PC computer systems (word processing, database and spread sheets.) Position will remain open until filled.
