General Description: The School of Professional Studies: CUNYs School of Professional Studies (SPS), established in 2003, offers innovative undergraduate and graduate level courses, certificates and degree programs, including CUNYs first Online Baccalaureate and the first Master Degree Programs in Applied Theatre and Disability Studies. Drawing on CUNYs nationally and internationally renowned faculty and practitioners, SPS offers programs in a wide range of disciplines. SPS is home to the Joseph S. Murphy Institute for Worker Education and Labor Studies and the Off Campus College. Each offers programs that provide educational opportunities to help working New Yorkers meet their career advancement and personal growth needs. SPSs industry and educational partners include the American Museum of Natural History, the CUNY Creative Arts Team, CUNYs John F. Kennedy, Jr. Institute for Worker Education, The School of Public Affairs at Baruch College, the Lincoln Center Institute for Arts in Education and the City of New Yorks Office of Emergency Managements Coastal Storm Plan Program. Other Duties: Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting to the SPS Operations and Technology Director the Operations and Support Services Coordinator will:
Identify, prioritize, communicate, and resolve technical/support issues relating to all SPS programs and initiatives.
Manage Quality Assurance and Training Program for SPS Help Desk technicians and support staff.
Maintain and develop statistical tools to analyze best practices and student trends in daily enrollment, course development and semester based student-faculty reporting.
Assist in the administration of SPS and CUNY based initiatives and program development
Corroborate with the functions of Admission, Financial Aid, Registrar and Student Services in implementing SPS policies and programs to ensure compliance with SPS mission goals.
Coordinates with intra-CUNY programs and colleges for SPS student support services and program requirements.
Other related duties as assigned by the SPS Operations and Technology Director.Salary:$52,000 - $58,000 Core Competencies/Qualifications: Qualifications: Minimum requirements for the position:
A Bachelors degree required. At least 5 years experience in higher education, adult education, human services, business, military service or related field required.
Experience developing and applying innovative strategies to meet high quality objectives in higher education.
Statistical and analytical skills are requisite. Excellent computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet development experience required; knowledge of SIMS generated reports and other data systems used by higher education institutions desired.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with ability to work independently as well as part of a team, prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, follow up, and detailed oriented. Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational ability, interpersonal skills, professional attitude and discretion are essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, web-enabled communication and Microsoft Office, Blackboard, E-SIMS, CUNY Portal, LDAP, TIPPS, CUNY First, Lotus Notes, CUNY Alert, LIVECHAT, ADOBE Professional, Survey Monkey, Big Pulse, registration and CRM systems required.
