We currently have one opening for this position and salary and level will be determined upon candidates’ skills, experience and education. Responsible for determining acceptability of insurance risks & appropriate premium rates and ASO fees for large & complex National Account customers. Position is a technical underwriting expert. Essential duties to include, but are not limited to: Calculates renewal rates for large complex cases based on thorough analysis of experience, location, demographics, etc. Coordinates with other departments to ensure accuracy & consistency of overall account reporting. Proposes rates for prospective business utilizing a combination of other carrier experience, demographic data & manual rates. Prepares or supervises preparation of annual settlements, ERISA reports, rate projections, or benefit change increments & decrements. Assists in establishing rating & administrative procedures. Participates in major multi-functional teams as underwriting representative. May also serve as a SME for the National Account Underwriting team. Assists in the technical development of underwriting associates, which may include monitoring reports & work flow to provide recommendations on productivity & efficiency improvements. Updates & monitors departmental processes & procedures in compliance with system, regulatory & business requirements. Expected to directly interact with clients and their consultants in order to provide value added financial services related to plan sponsor benefit plans. Also expected to partner with the National Account Management team in selling financial renewals and proposals to clients and their consultants including the development of our value proposition. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in related field required or equivalent combination of experience and education. A minimum of 3 years of directly related experience required. CPCU, CLU, LOMA, HIAA, PAHM or other insurance related courses preferred. Excellent analytical skills required. Strong PC capabilities required. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required. This position will be located in our Park Avenue, New York location and then eventually be relocated to our Liberty Street office at the end of year 2008; both locations are in Manhattan, NY.
