General Description: CUNY LEADS is a comprehensive collaborative program between The City University of New York (CUNY) and the New York State Departmentfs Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID). The charge of this program is to provide students with disabilities the skills to make academic and career choices that eventually result in successful employment outcomes. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and coordinate job placement activities and services for VESID eligible students with disabilities. This individual will develop placement opportunities through contacts with a variety of sources including corporate & business leaders; human resources professionals; federal, state, & city employers; college career centers; and existing for-profit and non-profit agencies. He/she will develop and participate in job readiness activities in order to counsel and place students in appropriate positions and monitor their employment outcomes.

This is a 2-year grant funded position Other Duties: ?? Coordinate services in cooperation with college disability services and career services offices ?? Coordinate services with campus LEADS counselor ?? Assess need for, and provide various job readiness services ?? Attend project meetings monthly, or as designated ?? Provide monthly/quarterly activity progress reports ?? Attend training workshops ?? Create employer database ?? Monitor progress of students ?? Assist students to implement job related accommodations ?? Work with employers to cultivate and maximize natural supports ?? Provide career choice assessment and goal planning ?? Other duties as designatedSalary:$38,000 to $54,000 commensurate with experience and education Core Competencies/Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree in related field required, Masterfs degree in related field preferred. Three years experience, or equivalent, in the successful delivery of job placement services; excellent communication and organizational skills; proficiency in MS Office required. Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act and other key disability legislation preferred. Position will remain open until filled.
