General Description: The LaGuardia Community College Upward Bound Program is looking to hire (1) English and (1) Mathematics SAT instructor, and an English and Mathematics A/B NYS Regents instructor, a total of (4) instructors in all to work for its Saturday Academic Program. Candidates should have experience preparing students for either the English or Math SAT exams or the English and Mathematics A/B NYS HS Regents Exams.

Classes meet from 9AM - 11AM and from 11:15Am - 1:15PM.

Score practice test results and comment on homework.

Provide feedback to project administrators on student performance.

Take daily attendance and note students who are late.

Salary:25.00-39.00 per hour (based on experience) 4 hours per-weekSalary:25.00-39.00 per hour 4 hours per wk for 10 wks (based on experience) Core Competencies/Qualifications: Core Competencies/Qualifications: Must have a minimum of a years experience teaching the respective course to HS students although more is preferred, and have experience working with low-income, first generation, inner city HS students from diverse backgrounds. Teaching experience in the NYC school system is highly desired or equivalent experience. College faculty with experience teaching in these areas and to this population are also welcome to apply.

Minimum of a BA/BS is required but MA/MS is preferred.

Must be truly committed to the education of inner city youth.
